Who Makes a Cotton Electric Blanket?

The general preference for cotton as the fabric of choice is because of its natural, breathable and gentleness on the skin. However when shopping for a warming blanket you'll find many of the choices on the market today are made from acrylic, polyester or a blend of the two. It is a bit harder to track down a cotton electric blanket but the Internet can be a big help. By performing a search for the type of electric blanket you are looking for you can find out what is available.

One blanket you may want to consider is the Beautyrest Warming Electric Blanket. This particular blanket is crafted from a blend of 80 percent cotton and 20 percent polyester which is likely to be the best ratio you can get. The polyester adds durability, flexibility and softness to the cotton for a blanket that has the texture you want and the quality you need. The wire is flexible and soft so that it is almost undetectable. There are ten different setting to ensure the perfect temperature for you. On the king and queen size blankets there are dual controls so each person can control the heat on their side of the blanket.

Another blanket that features cotton in the blend is the Sunbeam Arlington Electric Blanket. Although the ratio is only 10 percent cotton to an acrylic polyester blend this fabric is still very soft and breathable. You may even be able to find a discount on this particular blanket as many stores have overstock with irregularities in the fabric weave. This blanket comes in sizes Twin through King with dual heat control settings on queen and king sizes.

When shopping for a cotton electric blanket or one that features cotton fabric there are some other features to look for as well. Any warming blanket you choose should be UL certified for safety. This is shown by the UL logo on the product packaging and tag. Automatic shutoff is a good feature to have for safety, while the preheat feature is convenient if you want to warm up your bed before getting in. You will also find electric mattress pads, throws and comforters made with cotton however these items are not recommended for use in conjunction with another electric warming product like a blanket. As a general safety rule only one warming product should be used at a time.
